Through the Courses & Workshops Programme, SEOI supports and encourages the sharing of scientific knowledge and skills across all career stages and disciplines in the life sciences. EXCURSION

SCHEDULE

Welcome to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Congratulations to participants who have been successfully accepted to participate in the Cambodia Student Exchange Program 2018.

  • Participants will be greeted to be able to find the Meeting Point located at Phnom Penh International Airport. At the location, there is already a committee that has been waiting for your attendance.
  • Participants will be invited to try traditional Cambodian food. Here certainly there is a mission that has been prepared by the Committee related to traditional Cambodian food. Participants will be given clues and rules from the committee to complete this mission.

Prepare yourselves to be able to complete all missions appropriately. Make sure to use the appropriate dress code for the best campus visit agenda in Phnom Penh.

  • Participants will start the day on their way to one of the best, oldest, and largest universities in Cambodia, Royal University of Phnom Penh. This university is a national university in Cambodia established in 1960 hosting more than 20,000 students in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Not only come to feel the atmosphere of education there, but the participants are also given a mission to be able to introduce the identity of their selves in public, carrying the name of School / University. Naturally, it is a pride of its own to be able to introduce “who you are” in the eyes of the world.
  • The participants continued their next mission by coming to greet the people in Indonesia through the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Exchanging insights and experiences, while working and living in Cambodia is certainly something new for the participants. The mission from this visit is the sharing of knowledge and experience during wandering in Cambodia which has different language and culture with Indonesia. This is later contributed to increase foreign exchange earnings for Indonesia.
  • The journey is still long. Participants will be invited to the splendid Cambodian architectural achievement with its historical value and its beauty, Phnom Penh Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda. This complex building serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia built in 1860s. In addition, this cultural site becomes a popular tourist attraction in Phnom Penh. The mission to be solved by the participants here is to find the history of the palace that becomes the prevalent icon in Phnom Penh, Vietnam. Each clue has been prepared by the committee.
  • This second day trip concludes with a mission to find the traditional food and souvenirs on the largest market in Cambodia constructed in the shape of a dome with four arms branching out into vast hallways with countless stalls of goods, Central Market, Phnom Penh. Here participants are given a clue to find the things that are matched with the instructions given by the committee, and take a picture with locals to complete the mission perfectly.

Final day and mission complete.

Of course, from all missions that have been given by the committee, there are points that can be accumulated on the last day, and the winner of the mission during this program will get special reward from the committee. And, the program ends with a special reward for the best participant. Afterwards, it is followed by the delivery of all participants to go to Phnom Penh International Airport.

 

Successfully complete the mission and return to the country with new experiences, new stories, new friends, and new family.
